Part:BBa_I52001
ccdB and nonfunctional pUC19 derived high copy origin
BBa_I52001 is the default part cloned into the BioBrick cloning site of the low copy vectors pSB4T5, pSB3C5 and pSB3T5.
BBa_I52001 is composed of two parts: BBa_P1016 and BBa_I50020. BBa_P1016 is the positive selection marker ccdB used to facilitate assembly of BioBrick parts. BBa_I50020 is a nonfunctional minimal high copy pUC19-derived replication origin.
Plasmids carrying BBa_I52001 as the default part cloned into the BioBrick cloning site are functional BioBrick vectors. Unlike plasmids carrying BBa_I52002, they will propagate at the copy number of the vector replication origin.
Several low copy BioBrick plasmids are available with the I52001 insert. See I52001 Physical DNA for the complete list of plasmids that are available in this form.
